DOWELL - William Eugene Fox, 95, of Dowell died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.He had worked as an operating engineer for Local 520.He was born June 22, 1929, in Royalton, the son of Jack and Opal (Pyles) Fox.He married Wilma Ann Hines on Nov. 30, 1963, in Murphysboro and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2024.He is survived by one daughter, Julie Fox of Dowell.He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Ann (Hines) Fox; and his parents, Jack and Opal (Pyles) Fox.Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded.Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.For additional information or to sign the memorial guest register, visit www.searbyfuneralhomes.com.
