Benjamin Hance Wright, passed away peacefully at 6:56 am on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Reflections Memory Care in Carterville at the remarkable age of 95, surrounded by his loving family. Benjamin was born in Elk Township on December 24, 1928, the son of Hance and Martha (Beard) Wright.
Ben leaves a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and country. A proud Army veteran, he served honorably in the Korean War, and his sense of duty and patriotism stayed with him throughout his life. As a devoted father and grandfather, Ben was always there for his loved ones, offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a warm smile. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Known for his straightforward and no-nonsense approach to life, he had a simple yet rich appreciation for the finer things – like a cup of black coffee, which had to be hot enough to meet his high standards.
