Ruby Louise Stevens, age 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:19 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
Ruby was born in Salem on September 13, 1946, the daughter of Dora (Drummond) Rickman and Grant Wishon. She married George Stevens in Carlinville 1980. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Mrs. Stevens had a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a home healthcare aide. Her dedication to caring for others was unmatched. Ruby's compassionate nature shone through in every interaction she had with her patients. Her kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many.
Ruby is survived by her son- David Shuler, Jr. of Du Quoin; daughter- Lora (Robert) Wrolen of Du Quoin; daughter- Shanna Stevens of Centralia; and son Jason Stevens of Akin, South Carolina; seven grandchildren- Tiffany (Travis) Elling, Joshua Pitts, Heather Wrolen, Camilia (Matt) Holsapple, David Shuler, Jonathan Shuler, and Maya Branch; fourteen great-grandchildren; four sisters-
